Mel Baum
I
believe Mel retired in the mid 70's. I recall he was working in
booking in the old days when SPD maintained one side of the booking
department in the jail. That was when I started on the 1st Platoon,
(Midnight to Eight AM), in 1971. JW021

Melvin J. Baum, 78,
of Camillus, died Thursday at Community General Hospital. A life resident of
the Syracuse area. He was a Korean Veteran of the Air Force and retired
policeman for the Syracuse Police Dept. Predeceased by his wife, Irene
Renczkowski Baum; two sons, Mel George Baum and Brian Walter Baum; one
daughter, Tracey Elizabeth Baum-Wicks; one sister, Janet Smith; three
brothers, Paul, Craig, and Jack Baum. Memorial Services will be at a later
date. Arrangements by Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Inc., Onondaga Hill.
