March 8, 2004 Robert L. "Dutch" Carhart Sr., 78, of Kirkville,
died Monday at University Hospital. He was a native and life resident of the
Minoa area. Mr. Carhart retired in 1986 after 30 years of service with the
Syracuse Police Department. He also owned and op-erated C&M Farms since
1973.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Minoa and a life member of 60
years with the Minoa Fire Department. He was a member of the American
Legion. Mr. Carhart served in the U.S. Navy during World War II
participating in the D-Day invasion. Survivors: his wife of 55 years,
Christine "Dolly"; two daughters, Colleen Matthes and Lori Ann
Capriotti, both of Kirkville; a son, Dr. Robert L. Carhart Jr. of Kirkville;
two sisters and a brother; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services: 9:15 a.m. Thursday from the Russell H. Schepp & Son
Funeral Home, and 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Minoa. Burial will be in St.
Mary's Cemetery, Minoa. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home, 109 East Avenue, Minoa. Contributions: The Coronary Care Unit
