2006 Joseph G. Olszewski, 79, of Liverpool, passed away Friday at his home.
He was a native and life resident of the Syracuse area and retired from the
Syracuse Police Department in 1985 after 33 years. He was an Army veteran of
WWII and a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He is
survived by his wife of 55 years, Rose; daughters, Joanne Rowan of Syracuse
and Mary of Liverpool; sons, Matthew (Rosemary) of Skaneateles, Mark
(Maryellen) of Ephrata, PA, Luke (Angela) of Panama City Beach, FL, John
(Mary Theresa) of Camillus and Paul (Mary Anne) of Camillus; sisters, Jane
Ilacqua of Syracuse and Anne Munz of Camillus; brother, Edward (Eva)
Olszewski of Camillus; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and
several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday,
December 27, 2006, at Maurer Funeral Home, 300 Second Street, Liverpool.
Funeral services will be conducted 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home and
10 a.m. in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 927 Park Ave.,
Syracuse, NY 13204, with burial to follow in Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
